Children's worship

Our mission is to teach children to develop a relationship with God by teaching them about who he is and learning about the role he plays in their lives; helping them build healthy Christ-like relationships with family, church, community, and each other.  “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” (Matthew 19:14)

Children’s worship, also called Kids of Praise, is held during the sermon time of our Sunday morning worship service.  Our children’s worship program offers a 2-3 year-old group and a 4-8 year old group.  Our 2-3 year-old group runs all year round and our 4-8 year-old group runs from September (the Sunday after Labor Day) through June (Father’s Day).

Children’s worship is a time where we teach children how to worship God and how to be active participants in all parts of the worship service.  We seek to show each child how to connect his or her life with Jesus and develop gifts such as imagination, trust, and faith.  The program is substantial but simple.

Events

Fall Fest

In lieu of a summer VBS we offer Fall Fest as a unique adventure complete with a biblical theme, games, crafts, snacks, candy, and fun.  Kids are encouraged to show off their Halloween costumes while they enjoy this exciting day.  Fall Fest is staffed by our very own members and will be held Nov. 1 (1:00-3:00pm).

Family movie night

Periodically throughout the year our children and their parents enjoy watching a movie together on our big screen.  Free popcorn and drinks provided.  All movies are family appropriate. 

Teaching children about God

We have a team of teachers and helpers who love God and love teaching children about him.

TWIGS  (Together WIth God’s Spirit) is designed to encourage girls age 5-10 to develop a love for serving God and others.  Meetings are held once a month in Christian women’s homes.  The women share with the girls how they us their talents to serve God.  Mothers are encouraged to come and spend this time with their daughters.

STICKS  (Sons Together In Christ’s Kingdom’s Splendor) is designed to encourage boys age 5-10 to develop a love for serving God and others.  Meetings are held once a month.  Christian men encourage boys how to be the spiritual leaders and examples that please God.  Fathers are encouraged to come and share this time with their sons.  “I am the vine; you are the branches.” (John 15:5)
