The KOP team will again be in the Monterrey area of Mexico. Most likely, we'll be in Santa Monica which is located about 30 minutes from Monterrey. When completed, it will be the largest church Rick Owens has completed. In 2009, we poured a concrete floor, tied a rebar support beam and built the form for the first part of the roof.
See photos of the 2009 trip.
For the past 10 years, the King of Prussia church has teamed up with Rick and Sherry Owens to help construct church buildings in Mexico. Each summer we send a team to Mexico to assist with construction. Many congregations in Mexico are forced to meet in homes which puts serious limitations on their ability to grow.
Once a building is finished congregations have been known to double or even triple in size! Besides the obvious benefits to the Mexican church, King of Prussia benefits greatly as well. We have had the opportunity to develop deep, meaningful relationships with each other, teach our youth about service, and witness the power of the Holy Spirit!
Norristown Ministries, Inc. is a nonprofit corporation chartered in April 1983 for the purpose of promoting and developing the spiritual, physical, and mental welfare of the disadvantaged, underprivileged or otherwise needy citizens of the Borough of Norristown and its environs.
Our main mission since January 1992 has been the special needs of Norristown's daytime homeless, focused in the Hospitality Center and Soup Kitchen ministries.
Our goals
1. To help construct a church building.
2. To build & strengthen relationships. With the church in Mexico and with each other.
3. Build & strengthen the body of Christ.
