A loving church family

The early church was a family. The fact that they met in homes and rejoiced over the many "household conversions" is a testimony to their identity as a family of faith. Christians thought of themselves as brothers and sisters in Christ with Christ himself as their older brother and God as their heavenly Father (Hebrews 5:11). Jesus said, "Whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother" (Matthew 12:50). The New Testament continually describes the church, not as an institution, but as a family.

We try to model the family dynamics of the early church here at King of Prussia. We are a loving church family who seeks to live out, albeit imperfectly, our relationship with Christ in our relationships with each other.

The early church had a consuming passion to meet the various needs of its friends and family. We are reminded often of how they shared their lives, their needs, their resources, and even their pain. Meeting one another's needs is an intentional focus here at King of Prussia. We strive to reflect the generous Spirit of the early church family as they worshipped God, broke bread in their homes, and met the needs of the community (Acts 2:42-47).
